We are excited to announce that Washington Redskins defensive end Stephen Bowen will be writing a diary of his experiences at training camp. Bowen’s diary will appear on this site beginning Wednesday, July 24 and run through the end of camp. A seven-year NFL veteran, Bowen has seen his share of training camps and will bring that experience to the Redskins fans, whether they make it to Richmond or want to get a feel for the action from afar.
Bowen will provide a first-person account of the team’s first two days in Richmond. Afterwards, he will give his thoughts, observations and analysis from the trenches of training camp three times each week until the team breaks camp on August 15.
Bowen’s Football Background
Bowen attended Hofstra University and was an undrafted free agent who worked his way onto the Dallas Cowboys through a strong training camp performance in 2006. In 2011, he joined the Redskins and started at defensive end for the team in 32 games, and was named co-defensive captain for the Redskins last season. He played through a torn left upper biceps for the last four games of the year.
